Front Porch Blog Hop

Hi scrappers, hope you are visiting for the
Say Cheese Blog Hop!

I wanted to share this fun layout with you today.
I say fun because, not only is it full of fun colors from the kit,
and bath tub /cousin pictures are always fun,
but I had fun making it!

I was inspired by an art project I pinned
to make with my 3 year old daughter...
They stamped with bubble wrap to make grapes,
so I stamped with bubble wrap to make bubbles!

It is always a tad OUT of my box to use
spray mist or paint on a layout,
but these kits come with so much fun stuff IN the box,
I can't help but get a little messy!

On top of the mist and paint, I also added lots of doodles.
I just love how personalized doodles can make a page!

The kit has a large piece of pink burlap...
yup, PINK BURLAP!!
To make it easier to cut I glued it to pink card stock
and then after it dried I could easily cut it without it fraying apart!

and don't think that the fact I got
really messy on a bath tub spread,
was lost on me!

Hope you had fun at this stop in the hop!
On to the next Front Porch girl's blog!

Say Cheese

This layout documents the birth of my third baby...
MY CAMERA!

I had so much fun with this layout!
I was going for the "tossed on the table" look.
and wanted the journaling to look more like sloppy notes,
than a pretty letter or diary entry.

I cut and rounded the corners of the picture to look like a poliroid photo.
Quickly added the name and date-
like my Nana used to do with our old photos.

The last thing I did was splatter black paint to look like ink.
This was outta my comfort zone,
but very freeing at the same time!

Don't love all the buttons, embellishment, and camera stuff...
Well, good!  'Cause I know where you can get all this
 and a whole lot MORE!

Head over to the Front Porch Kit site
and order you "Say Cheese" kit!
Happy Snappin'

Magnetic File Folder

So here is my first project with my "Say Cheese" kit...

Look twice at this...
It started as an accordion file folder.
and see the big lable... it is chalk board paper!

I put magnetic strips on the back,
so it will stick to our refrigerator!

No more papers sliding all over when
the kids slam the fridge door!

Perfect for school calenders
and unfinished homework!

and if you think this is pretty cute...
heard on over to see what the other Front Porch Girls made
and while you're there order your kit!

New Front Porch Kit

The new Front Porch Kit is coming girls!
Can I get a WOO-HOO?
It is called
 "SayCheese"
and boy is it full of greatness!

I had so much fun laying out all the contents
and pulling down my "lotions and potions"
as Miss Tracey calls them.

If this sneak peek isn't enough...

Christmas Layouts

So this season instead of trying to do a December Daily album,
I elected to take the 12 Days of Christmas Class at Big Picture Classes.
The ideas is that they send you 12 days of photo prompts
and a list of supplies and ideas to think about.

Then after Christmas, as things are settling down...
you get a video and a sketch to go along with the pictures
 and supplies you have collected.
Nice, huh?

One of the ideas was to capture a Holiday song or phrase.
I chose "It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year"

These photos were so perfect and really captured the feeling at our house.

I love this LilyBee Paper and you know who much
I like using my own handwriting for journaling.
This was actually one of my very favorite layouts!

This assignment was to capture writing a letter to Santa,
but frankly we did not do that this year.
Gasp!  I know!

But I subbed out these great photos of the kids in the Christmas show at church.
I just had to tell the story of my sweet Mikey wearing his angle wings and halo,
all smiles, singing, smiling, loving the entire thing.
And then there was was Addy, who tore off her wings and halo,
picked her nose, and yawned the whole time front and center!!

This is exactly why I scrapbook!
The stories.
The legacy.
The delightful moments we often for get!

Just Paper Shopping

Although, I have not been able to scrapbook or even craft lately...
I have done the next best thing...
shopped for paper!
I found really cute Halloween paper...
for a few projects I hope to get done before this month
blows past me like it did last year!
and some great grey, pink, and black paper
for Adelyn's Star Wars Party decor!
All of this came from Hobby Lobby.
Now, if I can squeeze in time to cut it up
and make something cute out of it!
