Just Paper Shopping

Although, I have not been able to scrapbook or even craft lately...
I have done the next best thing...
shopped for paper!
I found really cute Halloween paper...
for a few projects I hope to get done before this month
blows past me like it did last year!
and some great grey, pink, and black paper
for Adelyn's Star Wars Party decor!
All of this came from Hobby Lobby.
Now, if I can squeeze in time to cut it up
and make something cute out of it!

Crop Night

Woo Hoo!
I have a fun new group of scrappin' girls to play with!
I have lived in this town for just 9 months
and thanks to my mommy group
I already have a fun group of friends
 to crop and craft with.
I hosted a crop night this weekend and
it was so much fun to make stuff, eat, and
show off the Memory Works products...
ok and drink a little wine, too!
I put together a little make and take with our
Fancy Pants Summers End Paper.
We made my super simple and very darling photo clips.
Look HERE to see my original post.
These are super fun for seasonal displays,
place cards, and they even hold a gift card!
I used some vintage glass ware and
our desert plates to hold all our materials.
Everything was cut and measured, however
I left a variety of ribbon, flowers, buttons, and
paper pieces, so everyone could add their own touch!
I also was able to show off stickles...
which I think every crafter should own!
To display product and keep myself organized,
I moved a few things around on my hutch.
I really liked how natural and part of my decor it all looked.
I do want to work on a way to display some of my layouts.... ideas?
I brought down a few of my favorite things that
maybe the girls were not familiar
with, like my 6x6 paper  obsession and glimmer mist.
It was requested that I do a make and
take with the glimmer mist and acrylic stamps!!
This is how I store
 my newest,
most favorite,
most inspirational
paper in my scrap room...
So it was a perfect way to display even more product!
I did not do a whole of "selling" as this was a crop
and not a "catalog party"
However, this method will also help me
keep track or order of mentioning our different lines.
All and all, I had fun so I would say to was a success...
the girls want to make it a monthly thing,
which thrills me because it is always way more
fun to scrap with friends!
I have also learned that I do want to host an open house
for girls who either don't scrapbook or
girls who are not interested in being in a monthly crop.
Before I do this I want to get working on
Mike's Elementary Album  and Adelyn's Fabulous Album.
This way girls (aka busy busy moms) can see
how fun and easy it is to leave your babies an adorable legacy!

Also, I am continuing my craft nights...
wait until you see our Spring Craft!!

What a Steal!

I am not a regular shopper at Big Lot's... only because I am not even a regular shopper these days. But, I went in this week to pick up shelf paper and hit the mother load of scrapbook deals!! They had so much great stuff, I popped a lollipop into both kids hands just to buy myself thinking time-lol. I made myself stick to $10 (for now), but just spent $9. I walked away with a Martha Stewart accordion 6X8 mini book in teal for $2 and it came with 36 photo corners. They also had a 6 pack of her cat's eye style inks in blues for $2. With the other $5 I got some great alphabet cling stamps. These are by Inkadinkado and are $11 on line, but mine were $2!
These two sets are from KI memories and are also on line for $11 to $12 and they were just $1.50.
Just in case you do not know Big Lots carries Basic Grey and Bazzil papers!! So next time you see their big orange sign and have a few minutes to dig out their deals, head on in... you might hit the mother load, too!

PS. Found other good things on top of my shelf paperthere, too... like bathroom rugs and washclothes for the kids new bathroom, organic cake mixes and snacks and cheap pool toys!

CKC Convention

On Saturday, my SIL, Amy, and I went to the CKC convention in San Marcos. We were only able to get into one class because my surgery put off our registration- boo! And the one class was disappointing... but we still worked hard!

These were the cards, however the blank cards we were given to decorate were stark white... not the kraft color in the examples... so I got started but will finish up here at home with kraft cards. And when I am done I will post them with the helpful hints and tips we learned in the class.

Our success of the day was in the shopping... not in the budgeting, but the shopping. What did I buy you ask... well, I was blown away by the new LUSH line from My Mind's
Eye. And these pics do not do it justice...

The red on this page is lined with fine red glitter. It really is beautiful. I also bought a tag to go with it that reads "Home Sweet Home" My vision is a canvas for the new house.

This bird paper from the collection really brought tears to my eyes (not kidding) I instant thought of me and Adam and will do a black in white of us and make something for our bedroom.

Then I found the Pyrus Collection from Basic Grey. Woo-Hoo! These colors screamed my name and got me thinking the color pallet for the new house! I bought the 6X6 pack and a few 12x 12 sheets.

Don't cha love it?

Man, I am crazy about this line! So crazy, I bet I save this paper and never use it because I like it so much... Why do we do that?

Another favorite purchase were these cards from October Afternoon! Vintage beach... just what I need!

I do regret not picking up this paper...

and this paper. I was overwhelmed and wanted it all... Good thing we have Two Peas in a Bucket for on line shopping! They have EVERYTHING!

Lastly, my steal of the day. I found this Making Memories Advent Kit for $9.99... instead of the usual $15... and believe it or not... I already finished it! Don't worry... you will see it all finished when I post about how we will use it in December!
So now that I have new stuff... I have lots to work on this Sunday at the coffee crop at my local scrap shop!

Anniversary Week For Practical Scrappers

It is Practical Scrappers first anniversary! And to celebrate they are hosting a week of challenges. I thought I would join to help get my little scrapping blog off to a running start (again) So here we go...

Day 1: Use your #1 Favorite Product

If you have ever cropped with me you will might guess ribbon or buttons, but really my favorite product is STICKLES!
On example of embellishing with Stickles is this foam heart. The Stickles add dimension and sparkle to tie in the glitter chip board letters.

Another page with Stickles is this birthday spread. I used Stickles for my border and on the flowers for that extra something.

For more ways to use Sticles check out this video HERE.
PS. If you cant tell from these two spreads my 2nd favorite product would be the corner rounder from Creative Memories... can't live with out that little thing!
