Say Cheese

This layout documents the birth of my third baby...
MY CAMERA!

I had so much fun with this layout!
I was going for the "tossed on the table" look.
and wanted the journaling to look more like sloppy notes,
than a pretty letter or diary entry.

I cut and rounded the corners of the picture to look like a poliroid photo.
Quickly added the name and date-
like my Nana used to do with our old photos.

The last thing I did was splatter black paint to look like ink.
This was outta my comfort zone,
but very freeing at the same time!

Don't love all the buttons, embellishment, and camera stuff...
Well, good!  'Cause I know where you can get all this
 and a whole lot MORE!

Head over to the Front Porch Kit site
and order you "Say Cheese" kit!
Happy Snappin'

Love This Face

I am still on an Addy roll...
Looking at some older pictures of her make me
want to scrap pink, flowers, ribbon, and all things girly!
The title says "We just love this face"
All the paper is from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline paper.
I really, really like it!
The details are just simple layering on a doily di-cut.
 Again I added a little peek-a-boo topper...
I can't help myself!
Can you believe that I made that adorable face!
I always tell Adam... "Our kids are so flippin' cute,
we owe it to the world to make a least a dozen!"

Hmmm... I am thinking I need to go back and round some corners...

Pirate Princess

Who says girls can't be pirates?
And my what cute one Addy made when she was 22 months!
This adorable pirate paper is from Rusty Pickle... ya, it is old.
The grey polka- dot paper is new from My Mind's Eye and I am a bit smitten by it!
The cards are Crate Paper... gotta love them!
I added tulle and a bow from old scraps.
Tulle is such a cheap way to add fun texture to pages...
plus it comes in every color!
The title is actually that strip along the bottom of the paper...
the Rusty Pickle line was Pirate Princess.
I just trimmed it and dove tailed it,
to match the other My Mind's Eye stickers.
You can see the new Miss Caroline products HERE.
Let me know if you want to order some... and trust me you want to order some!
I have been adding a little side topper to lots of pages these days.
This one was made of a Martha's Stewart doily and scraps from the page.
The grey button came as an extra from a cardigan I bought- how is that for planning?

Adelyn is 2 now and since Mike has been away visiting his Lala...
she and I have had lots of quality girl time, so all I want to scrap is her!

Everything

So, I printed of this picture I just love of Adam and I knew wanted to use the words to our current family favorite song, "Alright" by Darius Rucker... lucky for me that the sketch from Sketchy Thursday is a one pic LO!
I typed (um copy and pasted) the words of the song several times in a word document to make the background square... then printed my favorite line again on kraft paper for the sub title.

I used a stamp from KI to make the pattern on the yellow paper and was very happy with this technique... I will be doing this again!

One of my favorite embellishments right now is twine... I just love that stuff!

Addy 2 months

When I saw this sketch over at Design Dollies I knew I had to make it! I just adore the sweet banner and the layers. I had Addy's 2 month pic to scrap and this great paper from Double Take that I have been saving since my birthday LAST year (thanks, Amy!) Plus, both kids were napping at the same time. It was as if the scrappin' stars were aligned! I used my acrylic stamps from Close To My Heart (Cocktail) and one of my favorite ink colors (Goldrush) for the title. A burlap flower with a button from my great grand mother attached with the best-ever glue... Zip Dry!
So for all you mommies who feel like you NEVER have time to make great layouts... copy it! And use paper you already have!
