Everything

So, I printed of this picture I just love of Adam and I knew wanted to use the words to our current family favorite song, "Alright" by Darius Rucker... lucky for me that the sketch from Sketchy Thursday is a one pic LO!
I typed (um copy and pasted) the words of the song several times in a word document to make the background square... then printed my favorite line again on kraft paper for the sub title.

I used a stamp from KI to make the pattern on the yellow paper and was very happy with this technique... I will be doing this again!

One of my favorite embellishments right now is twine... I just love that stuff!

Embracing Imperfection

This week, while they napped
I watched a few classes over at Big Picture Scrapbooking.
One of the free classes is called Embrace Imperfection...
it is really good!
You can click on this icon and find it...
wait, you SHOULD click on this icon and WATCH it! Insoired by the class and my freshly printed sketch from SKETCHY THURSDAY
I made not one, but TWO layouts... in one day...
72 minutes to be exact.
This was the 2nd one I made...
a couple of stamping "ughs" and the tag is less than great...
but over all I am liking it a lot!

So, my first attempt to "get messy" was one I could not let go...
lol... I'm working on that.

My 2nd try was better, but old Kristy would have again started over.
New "lovin' being imperfect Kristy" went for it... anyways.
Wow... noting matching,
the journaling is sloppy and crooked,
but I love the pictures because it was such a great memory!

And I really like my title... well, not the way it looks exactly but the words...
See I can learn something new everyday!

My New Favorite Layout

I am very picking about scrappin' Adelyn's new born pictures...
maybe because she is most likely my last,
maybe because her birth was such a blessing,
maybe because I know someday she will be a scrapper herself
and look at my pages,
or maybe all of the above!
So when I saw this fun challenge over at Sketcky Thursday I went all in!
They posted a sketch, you had to use green and pink, a heart,
and have list about a loved one... PERFECT!
I am crazy about my elephant paper by Suzy Ultman and
this bunting is so sweet I want to make it life sized!

I paper pieces my elephant and hand journaled on the tag.

(See his little heart ear)

I just can't seem to make a page without a doily!

Since I fell in love with the page so,
I thought I would extend it into a full spread.

Most of this paper is from the Nana's Nursery line
and yes that is a big doily on this side, too!
Pages like this remind me
why scrap booking is in my soul!

Bless Your Heart

While the kids were napping I had some fun with a sketch over at Sketchy Thursday.
They have a real cute sketch and a few rules...

1. Use Pink or Red

2. Have a Heart and

3. Add journaling.

I added a few of my own rules for myself...

1. Use pictures already printed

2. Dig through the scrap box

3. Try some crepe paper!
(everyone els is)

4. Keep it simple; nap time is an hour...

PS. I hung this up for Addy to see and she loves looking at it and says "ba-be"

Anniversary Challenge Day 4

Practical Scrappers Anniversary Challenge

Day 4: Just 1 Embellishment

Here it is one simple piece of raffia. My husband loves to grill and sometimes a manly scrapbook page is hard to make eye pleasing.
I used 4 pieces of scrap paper to create a block look for the spread. I cut and inked all the edges.

This is one of my all time favorite layouts and you really don't miss the ribbons, buttons, or Stickles at all.

Even Bobby Flay would like this one, huh?

Anniversary Challege Day 3

Practical Scrappers Anniversary Challenge

Day 3: Use the #1 or the word one

I used a big chip board #1 on Mike's 1 month spread. I covered it with paper and inked the edges.
One of the hardest parts for me making a baby album is getting in all the priceless pictures with making the book impossible to complete of weighing a ton.

It is hard to see in pictures, but I use foam dots to raise some of the smaller pictures, so they would be noticed better.

Anniversary Week For Practical Scrappers

It is Practical Scrappers first anniversary! And to celebrate they are hosting a week of challenges. I thought I would join to help get my little scrapping blog off to a running start (again) So here we go...

Day 1: Use your #1 Favorite Product

If you have ever cropped with me you will might guess ribbon or buttons, but really my favorite product is STICKLES!
On example of embellishing with Stickles is this foam heart. The Stickles add dimension and sparkle to tie in the glitter chip board letters.

Another page with Stickles is this birthday spread. I used Stickles for my border and on the flowers for that extra something.

For more ways to use Sticles check out this video HERE.
PS. If you cant tell from these two spreads my 2nd favorite product would be the corner rounder from Creative Memories... can't live with out that little thing!
