CKC Class

Here is one of the classes I took at the CKC convention a few weeks ago. The class was called 15 minute pages and the paper was from Echo Park. I of course, made mine into a double page spread because I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use! These are kind of old... Mike's first trip to the park, but I have always loved them!
What a clean and simple layout!
I had to add a few extra butterflies and now that I am writing this I see I forgot the bling here on one of the butterflies!

This is the side I made... I used my own handwriting!
I know someday this will be one of Mike's favorite pages... pictures of him with his daddy and the story written by mama!

My New Favorite Layout

I am very picking about scrappin' Adelyn's new born pictures...

maybe because she is most likely my last,

maybe because her birth was such a blessing,

maybe because I know someday she will be a scrapper herself

and look at my pages,

or maybe all of the above!

So when I saw this fun challenge over at Sketcky Thursday I went all in!

They posted a sketch, you had to use green and pink, a heart,

and have list about a loved one... PERFECT!

I am crazy about my elephant paper by Suzy Ultman and

this bunting is so sweet I want to make it life sized!

I paper pieces my elephant and hand journaled on the tag.

(See his little heart ear)

I just can't seem to make a page without a doily!

Since I fell in love with the page so,
I thought I would extend it into a full spread.

Most of this paper is from the Nana's Nursery line
and yes that is a big doily on this side, too!
Pages like this remind me
why scrap booking is in my soul!

my favorite sketch site and my favorite paper. The left layout is last weeks sketch from Sketchy Thursday.... yup, I am a day late to post this. I was so happy and inspired by the results I made it into a double!
Here is the sketch. Really versatile- right? The paper is from my stash from Fancy Pants! It is the Sweet Spring collection, but you can still get some HERE. The blue trim I just bought from Two Peas on clearance, also Fancy Pants!

The collection of "a's" and a stamped tag... sweet!

I used tearing and inking to rough it up a bit.

I did my journaling on the computer.

I have been collecting some great fonts from Kevin and Amanda...

who I want call Melissa and Doug-lol.

My New Favorite Layout

I started with such sweet pictures of Adelyn, my niece, and their grandmother (Lala) wearing big girly hats and this great paper from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary line, then added it to the fun sketch from the Design Dollies challenge... out came my new favorite page! I made my own embellishment flowers, by free hand cutting nesting circles... crumbling them in my hand, inking the sides, stacking them, and then sticking a button in the middle.

Here is my big one. You can see how the flowers mimic the back ground paper.

If you have girls to scrap, you really need this paper!

And if you have great photos and great paper... you have to visit Design Dollies and checkout their creative sketches! It is also inspiring to see how other girls interpret the sketch.

LOL: My First CTMH Spread

I have been hanging on to these great pictures of Mike in a Halloween wig. They really capture the silly part of his personally. Adam says Mike will do anything to make me laugh and the more I laugh the sillier he gets. I also, had the title "LOL" in my head for awhile because it is so timely right now. Adding my pics, title, and then my new paper and stamps from CTMH made my vision come together fast and with a very happy result.... I used the You Rock Level 2 paper pack and Stickease (p.26). Oh and these Rockin Top Coats (p.93)embellishments.

I used my scalloped punches to add layers... I was surprised that scallops working on a boy page- woo hoo!

My sub title "2 funny" since he was 2 at the time and then added a flip book to write more funny stories about him at the age of two.

I cut four sheets of white card stock and scored one side to make the binding with brads. This is a great way to get in more journaling or pictures to your spread!
