It worked out very nice with the Design Dollies September sketch challenge. (Thanks, girls!)
I wanted a home-made feel to the page, so I added a border that looks like old fabric. I did this by snipping all around the edge, then running the paper under water and crumbling it just a bit. When it dried it had a lovely aged look and added texture to my page.
My journaling block was stamped and then raised with foam squares. "Home... This is the home Daddy came to after the war... this is where Mike took his first steps... Where Addy celebrated her first holidays..." and then at the bottom of the page I continued the journaling with... "This is the house we made into our first home" and then I wrote the address.
My favorite embellishment these days... a fabric flower with my great grandmothers old button in the middle. (sorry for the blur)
The last thing I did was make a pocket for a few photos I had of the inside of our home.
These slide behind the smaller winter picture and have a few tabs so you know they are there.
On the back of the matted photo I just put three slim pieces of foam to hold the extra photos in place.
There... a perfect fit!
