Christmas Layouts

So this season instead of trying to do a December Daily album,
I elected to take the 12 Days of Christmas Class at Big Picture Classes.
The ideas is that they send you 12 days of photo prompts
and a list of supplies and ideas to think about.

Then after Christmas, as things are settling down...
you get a video and a sketch to go along with the pictures
 and supplies you have collected.
Nice, huh?

One of the ideas was to capture a Holiday song or phrase.
I chose "It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year"

These photos were so perfect and really captured the feeling at our house.

I love this LilyBee Paper and you know who much
I like using my own handwriting for journaling.
This was actually one of my very favorite layouts!

This assignment was to capture writing a letter to Santa,
but frankly we did not do that this year.
Gasp!  I know!

But I subbed out these great photos of the kids in the Christmas show at church.
I just had to tell the story of my sweet Mikey wearing his angle wings and halo,
all smiles, singing, smiling, loving the entire thing.
And then there was was Addy, who tore off her wings and halo,
picked her nose, and yawned the whole time front and center!!

This is exactly why I scrapbook!
The stories.
The legacy.
The delightful moments we often for get!

Addy in Paradise

I happen to be the mother of a total beach babe!
Adelyn has loved the beach since her very first summer...
I was very happy when my mom and I
were able to capture these beautiful pictures of her.

The colors were a perfect match to the colors
in the Just Add Water: Front Porch Kit.

I did use a special effect on Picasa to bring out the peachy/ gold tones.
If you have not down loaded Picasa
to edit and organize your photos... you should!
it is so user friendly and FREE!
For an added detail I strung seed beads onto some thread
and the used Diamond Glaze to glue the beaded swirls into place.
And as you know, no page is complete without
some journaling in my own handwriting!

Almost 4

At my kids birthday parties I always like to display pictures of them... part of this layout was the display at Mike's resent 4th birthday party... So happy I was able to make it right into a nice page for him.

Oh, and I painted on this one, too! With the help for Ali Edwards OLW class I am really getting more comfortable with painting on LOs!

Belly Laugh LO

While the kids napped I was able to watch two video lessons on Two Peas from their great series 4X6 Photo Love with Shimelle Laine (Click image below for link) They are short, sweet, and super motivating!

These four photos of Mikey's very first belly laugh are very close to my heart. I guess I was saving them for... the perfect paper or shot of genius or who knows what, but I am really trying to move away from that and so happy I did!

The title lifts up to show another photo and the journaling.

She shows you how to cut your page protector to allow the flap to be lifted... very cool!

I almost always like to use my own handwriting, but this is a great way to use your own handwriting even if you do not like to, since it is hidden.

The fibers are simply stapled on.

I am planning on using this same LO a few times, maybe turning it. For me these classes and sketches make scrappin' easy and fun because I can get in, make a page, and then move on to my real life to-do list with out the quilt!

I Believe You Can Fly...

My favorite pictures, of my favorite girl,
PLUS
my favorite sketch site and my favorite paper. The left layout is last weeks sketch from Sketchy Thursday.... yup, I am a day late to post this. I was so happy and inspired by the results I made it into a double!
Here is the sketch. Really versatile- right? The paper is from my stash from Fancy Pants! It is the Sweet Spring collection, but you can still get some HERE. The blue trim I just bought from Two Peas on clearance, also Fancy Pants!

The collection of "a's" and a stamped tag... sweet!
I used tearing and inking to rough it up a bit.
I did my journaling on the computer.
I have been collecting some great fonts from Kevin and Amanda...
who I want call Melissa and Doug-lol.
