LO for My Hubby

On my family blog, I made a sweet post for my husband HERE. And really wanted to use the same pictures and journaling to make a LO for his book. I used this week's sketch from Sketchy Thursdays and my stamps from CTMH.

2 Peas Free Classes

Did you know Twp Peas in a Bucket now has free monthly classes? I took/ watched the January Scrapbook Stamping Class with Nichol Magouirk. I enjoyed it and felt pretty motivated to pull out my inks and play with some fun stamps. I stamped the background, frame, and tags!
Do I have the cutest SIL or what?

Faith Wall Hanging

Last year I joined Ali Edwards and lots of other bloggers in selecting a word to focus on for the new year. She calls it OLW (one little word). My word last year was FAMILY and I made a banner for our mantle to remind us what we were focused on. This year my word is FAITH and I made this wall hanging to help us think about building our FAITH everyday.
I am so in love with these colors. They just feel so light and fresh... like you should feel when you are walking in full FAITH! These papers are from Close To My Heart's Splendor collection.
The backing was an old cereal box that I traced this pretty shape onto. I had the shape from an old Technique Tuesday kit. If you don't have a shape you like, you can search on line for clip art and trace it that way. I traced the shape again and cut out the inside to make the frame. It is stacked up with a double layer of 3D foam... that makes it look almost like a shadow box.

Here is my birdie... lovely, huh? I kinda free handed her...again on a box for chip board. Her wings are used dryer sheets... ironed, cut, and layered! I also used them as ties on the hanger and bottom trim. I am sure there is a name for the fan folded circle I stuck her on- I am so addicted to these things! They are super easy and add loads of texture to layouts and cards!

Ta-da! I used the handy ole Crop-o-Dile for to punch the holes for the wire. And all the beads are from an old beaded wine bottle cover -ha. Now, I am thinking something similar for a house warming gift or Valentine decor!

Addy 2 months

When I saw this sketch over at Design Dollies I knew I had to make it! I just adore the sweet banner and the layers. I had Addy's 2 month pic to scrap and this great paper from Double Take that I have been saving since my birthday LAST year (thanks, Amy!) Plus, both kids were napping at the same time. It was as if the scrappin' stars were aligned! I used my acrylic stamps from Close To My Heart (Cocktail) and one of my favorite ink colors (Goldrush) for the title. A burlap flower with a button from my great grand mother attached with the best-ever glue... Zip Dry!
So for all you mommies who feel like you NEVER have time to make great layouts... copy it! And use paper you already have!

Here We Go...

I have taken the plunge into, not only a new adventure in direct sales as a Close to My Heart consultant, but also a new blog devoted to paper crafts!

I love my mommy blog for keeping up with memories, home projects, cooking, and fun mommy inspiration, but I also know how much fun I have reading scrappin' blogs... so why not start a scrapping blog of my very own.
So why Close to My Heart and not the other Scrap and Stamp direct sales companies... well that's easy... acrylic stamps work better for me than the rubber ones, we have more to offer the scrap booker verses the card maker, the paper is adorable, it's all affordable, and best of all for this busy mom it makes scrap booking easy without taking away my creativity.

Wanna see what I mean... take a look at the on-line catalog here

I got my consultant kit a few weeks ago and can't wait to share some of the fun projects I have made with these products... so be sure to to check back!
